TAKE LOCAL CONTROL AWAY FROM LOCAL GOVERNMENTS One thing that Republicans and Democrats usually agree upon is that local decisions should be made as close to the local level as possible. I have been amazed how many times the Florida Legislature and Florida Republican Governors have turned that upside down. Many decisions formerly made by local officials at the City or County level have been eroded, including changes with impact on development, taxes, schools, and now water.
