Height Limits, Open Space, Why Boulder is Flourishing--Venice Will do the Same.
"Controlled urban growth is serious business in this city of just over 100,000. You won’t find housing developments creeping up the hillsides. And thanks to four-story height restrictions, you won’t find towers competing with the peaks. Even from downtown you can look out on the tens of thousands of acres of open space, conservation easements and nature preserves that surround the city. "

The City of Boulder Colorado article needs to be published in the newspapers for the Venice residents to understand what a well managed city can achieve, Boulder consistently is ranked near the top of cities to work, retire, and live.
What was missing in the article was that Boulder City Council passed their Comprehensive Plan thirty years ago, and also came under the same criticsm from the local opportunists that the Venice City Council has received.
I might mention that the salaries of the management of City of Boulder are equal or less than what is paid by the City of Venice. Maybe the Venice City Staff should be held accountable, giving the City Staff 40% increase in salaries was uncalled for, especially what has transpired
in Venice over the past eight years.
Having lived in Colorado for thirty years, I was fortunate to live in some of the best managed cities in this country, why is it that Boulder, Ft. Collins, and Colorado Springs are always listed in the top of well managed cities? Maybe Venice needs to hire a consultant to find out why this city isn't listed with the Boulders of country.
