Venice, FL 34285
April 26, 2009

Editor, Council Members:

On Tuesday another chapter in Venice history will be written as the city council considers naming the new gulf beach on South Harbor Drive “Maxine Barritt Park”. In simplest terms this action honors a person who lead the petition fight to acquire this site and restore it. But, her name will invoke many other reasons for the council to approve this action. Three specials were offered on Monday April 13 and I expect there will similar offerings all week. Also there will be some special prizes from Thai Bistro's free drawing, and a possible free trip to Thailand.

Torpedo by Quiznos Hits the Spot
I am not likely to choose Best Bytes from chains, but the truth is that Quiznos has tasty stuff and their new Italian Torpedo, ($4.00) with pepperoni, capicola, mozzerella, lettuce and tomato, (I add banana peppers), with oil and vinegar, is spicy and tasty. Two nice guys and their Mom run this well.
B. 41 next to Publix.

Steve's subs on Venice Avenue and Obee's on B 41 are good sub stuff, too and if the truth be known, I am not unknown in Taco Bell and Mickey D's to keep f
